Unfortunately, life can be hard. Sometimes we want money to buy nice stuff, like new shoes, a fancy phone, a nice car, or some bling-bling. If you're like us, this is not always the case. All that money goes towards groceries, insurance, rent, bills, credit cards, etc. etc. 😭

You are here because you are selling or thinking about selling sports cards as a side hustle to earn some extra cash. It is hard and takes a lot of time (which you don’t have) to sort, scan, document and sell cards. We’ve been there and know the feeling. What if we told you that with Kronocard, our users can list 10,000+ cards on eBay in less than a week!

At Kronozio, we are passionate about what we do and work very hard to help collectors increase their sales. Over the last 5 years, we have worked closely with sports card collectors to quickly scan and list their products on eBay. It took us a while to figure out our eBay formula for selling sports cards and we will provide all the information you need to achieve $1,000 in sales per month below.

Now in your head your saying:
"OK buddy! Stop talking about context and show me how I can start making $1,000+ per month selling my cards."

The official formula is

I’m sure it has been awhile since you’ve been in algebra class, but it’s pretty basic stuff for us programmers. We’ll break it down for you on how to calculate that number.

V = Average value of your cards.
Q = The quantity of cards you can list on eBay.
C = Recurring cost (eBay store and Kronozio fees for the connector).

0.0085 multiplied by the square of the average value of your cards multiplied by the quantity of cards you want to list on eBay plus 0.017 multiplied by the average value multiplied by the quantity minus the recurring cost equals $/month

Example with numbers

OK, let’s say you have 10,000 cards that you can list on eBay with an average value of $3.25. The recurring cost will be the eBay Anchor store ($349.95) and Kronocard eBay connector for 10,000 listings ($99.95).

(0.0085 x 3.25 x 3.25 x 10,000) + (0.017 x 3.25 x 10,000) - 449.90 = $1,000.41 NET

If you list 10,000 cards per month with an average value of $3.25, you can expect to make around $1,000 per month selling on eBay. To continue making the same amount each month, you would still need to replace the cards sold with new ones of the same value.

This table represents an eBay Anchor store with 10,000 cards.

Card Average Value Cards Sold / Month* Potential NET Sales / Month*
$1.00 300 $(144.90)
$2.00 400 $280
$3.00 500 $875
$4.00 600 $1,640
$5.00 700 $2,575
$10.00 1200 $9,800
$15.00 1700 $21,275
$20.00 2200 $37,000
$25.00 2300 $48,475
$30.00 2400 $60,800
$40.00 2500 $84,600
$50.00 2600 $110,100

*Numbers can change over time depending on the time of the year, the sport, and the quality of your cards. We cannot guarantee those numbers. Examples:

  • Listing 10,000 poor condition cards will result in lower than expected sales.

  • People are reactionary when they shop, so if LeBron James wins the NBA Championship with a game winning shot, his card sales increase dramatically.

For each sport, sales tend to increase during the active season.
